How Herbs Are Helping With Infertility

While the treatment of infertility might seem like a miracle of modern medicine, the truth is that historical records indicate infertility treatment dates back as far as 200 A.D. in China. In fact, where modern medicine fails, these age-old treatments can still produce successful results when trying to combat infertility issues. Today, more and more people are turning to Chinese herbs to help issues with their infertility concerns. There are more than 150 Chinese herbs that are currently used to aid in the treatment of infertility. Most herbal infertility treatments involve a combination of these herbs, which are usually administered in either a pill, tablet, tea or powder form.

Exactly how these Chinese herbs aid in fertility issues is largely unknown, but the root of the treatment has to do with balancing deficiencies and stimulating circulation to the reproductive organs of the body. Almost all functional infertility issues can be traced back to an imbalance or a deficiency of the body. Chinese herbal infertility treatments are used to restore harmony and balance to the body, alleviating the root cause of the infertility. Chinese herbal treatments are usually used in combination with other conventional and alternative infertility treatments, such as acupuncture. While these methods may not be effective in alleviating structural causes of infertility, they have proven to significantly alleviate functional infertility issues.

While Chinese herbal treatments are all-natural, some herbs can produce adverse side effects. Because of this, it is extremely important that you do not take herbs without first consulting your physician and only take herbal supplements intended for women who are trying to conceive as some herbs can actually interfere with conception. Once conception has occurred, almost all Chinese herbal supplements should be stopped as many should not be consumed through pregnancy.
