What is infertility?

Infertility is defined as when a couple are not able to conceive after one year of unprotected intercourse. Infertility affects about one in five couples in the United States.

A recent study shows that when traditional Chinese medicine is combined with in vitro fertilization (IVF), the odds of conception and healthy pregnancy increases by 50%.

Dr. Lu’s Alternative Center for Human Reproduction offers ways of treating infertility that incorporates traditional Chinese medicine, acupuncture and Chinese herbs that can dramatically increase the chances of becoming pregnant. Acupuncture and Chinese herbs can bring the body back into balance and create a physical and emotional environment conducive to a healthy pregnancy.

Acupuncture, an ancient Chinese medicine, functions by inserting needles at very precise acupuncture points, thus encouraging the body to promote natural healing. Acupuncture can help correct any energy circulation imbalances in the body’s internal organs. The improved energy and body balance produced by acupuncture promotes the body’s natural healing abilities, and the individual’s physical and emotional well-being.

Acupuncture can stimulate egg production in women who cannot or do not want to use fertility medications to become pregnant.
